- What is a good Hootsuite alternative for agencies?
- The features that matter for agency work are client separation, role-based access and an audit trail. PostMCP does all three through workspaces: isolated accounts and calendars per client, four ranked roles, and an activity log recording who changed what. Business plans cover 10 workspaces, 20 collaborators and 50 connected profiles on one bill.
- Can I give a client read-only access?
- Yes — the Visitor role. They see posts, the calendar, brand kits and activity, and can change nothing at all. It is the right seat for a stakeholder who wants visibility without the ability to move a scheduled post at 11pm.
- Does it do social listening and inbox management?
- No. PostMCP is a publishing engine, not a full social suite — there is no unified inbox, listening stream or engagement queue. If those are core to your work you will need them elsewhere; if publishing and scheduling are the job, this is a much lighter tool for it.
- What about analytics?
- PostMCP records delivery outcomes — what published, where, when, and the live permalink — rather than downstream engagement analytics. For reach and engagement reporting you would use each network’s own analytics or a dedicated tool.
- How many social accounts can I connect?
- Five on Free, ten on Starter, twenty-five on Professional and fifty on Business. Profiles are counted per connected account, so a LinkedIn personal profile and a company page you administer are two.
- Is there an API for our own systems?
- Yes, and it is the same engine the dashboard uses — not a limited export. Every tool is available at POST /api/tools/{name} with an API key, and there is an open-source MCP server for AI clients. Custom workflow API endpoints are called out on the Business plan.
